Brugge is a beautiful old town. It has kept its Medieval architecture beautifully. Brugge is known for its canals, its lace and its chocolate. It is a small city that is perfect for a weekend getaway.
This weekend there was the first of the three big brocante markets. These markets, called Zandfeesten, cover up to 5 km. There were many dealers there and not that many locals selling their stuff. Which I thought was a pitty because those dealers really know there prices and they often all sell the same kinds of stuff. But we had a very nice time strolling down the park and looking as much at the people as at the merchandise. We bought a little angel or fairy for our garden and I bought some more ribbons and a few (fake) pearl necklases for the beads.
Brugge will always be there for you to visit. But the Zandfeesten will only be there one sunday in August and one in September. I can highly recommend a romantic getaway to beautiful Brugge.
