I have started to decorate for Fall. With the weather we have had this last week it seemed fitting.
I have started outside. We are currently working on our terrace, it will become a lot larger and I am happy about that. I am not so happy about the way the garden looks in the meantime. The borders are really on their last legs and the fact that lately I haven’t been taking care of the garden at all doesn’t help either. And with our patio in total disarray I wanted to have at least one little corner that looked nice and organized.
De eerste herfstdecoraties zijn gearriveerd. Onze tuin is op dit moment een erg rommelige plek. We zijn begonnen om ons terras te vergroten en dat brengt natuurlijk een hoop troep met zich mee. De bloemenborders zien er bovendien ook niet meer zo geweldig uit, vooral omdat ik ze dit jaar enorm verwaarloosd heb. Maar ik had toch behoefte om tenminste één plekje buiten op orde en netjes te hebben. Dus ben ik buiten begonnen de herfst ons huis in te brengen.
So I have jumped on the burlap wagon and gave my little trunk corner a makeover.
A couple of months ago I was buying some fresh coffee beans for my love and asked the shopkeeper if he had some spare coffee bean bags. He told me he would try to get me some but that they were getting rare these days because the coffee was shipped in large containers. But to my surprise and great joy he called me the other day: he had 10 bags for me. For free! It doesn’t get more thrifty then that.
Ik heb maar liefst tien jute koffiezakken gescoord bij de koffiewinkel hier in de stad. De eerste zak is nu de nieuwe hoes voor het kussen op mijn legerkist. Ik heb het kussen er gewoon ingestopt, paste precies, geen reden om de naaimachine uit te halen.
I have used the first one as a new cover for my trunk pillow. No sewing involved, I simply slipped to pillow into the sack. Done.
I really love the lettering on the sacks. It matches the letters I put on the trunk.
Ik vind het helemaal leuk dat de letters op de zakken zo veel lijken op de letters die ik zelf op de kist gespoten heb.
I have also used some burlap to hang these wreaths that I replaced my summer plates with.
De borden die hier eerst hingen heb ik vervangen door kransen, die ook met jute opgehangen zijn.
Ik heb nu nog bijna negen zakken over, dus jullie kunnen nog heel wat jute decoraties tegemoet zien. Want nu ik eenmaal met de herfstdecoraties begonnen ben, jeuken mijn handen om de rest van het huis ook in herfststijl te brengen.

Love those makeovers. The burlap bench cushion is fab. And those wreaths are adorable too.

Jute koffiezakken…je moet er maar op komen! Erg gezellig hoekje zo met die kransen aan de muur. Als ik dit zo zie beginnen mijn handen ook te jeuken!

dat is nog grappig: ik heb gisteren ook foto´s gemaakt met een koffiezak erop. Die van mij komt uit een koffiewinkel aan de Bodensee/Duitsland en heeft een leuk Braziliaans opschrift/dessin. Daar hingen er ook veel verschillende. Leuk toch, die bank van je en dan die zak erop… helemaal ´cool´!

Hee Marianne, ja de herfst komt er nu toch echt aan, wij hebben vandaag onze parasol opgeruimd (lees hubby heeft…). Onze tuin staat er eigenlijk nog best mooi bij. Als je je borders nog moet 'renoveren' geef ik je als tip lekker veel hortensia's te zetten, ze zijn nu voor half geld bij het tuincentrum en je hebt er zo lang plezier van. Die zakken vind ik wel leuk, maar ik ben echt de prinses op de erwt, ik krijg al jeuk als ik er naar kijk, maar je hebt gelijk hoor, het oog wil zeker ook wat. Ben benieuwd wat je er nog meer mee gaat doen, fijne week!

dat kussen ziet er prachtig uit, staat erg leuk op de kist. jij bent dus ook met het terras bezig. hier is het einde bijna in zicht. wens ik je nog veel succes met het aanleggen van het nieuwe terras. (ik weet hoeveel werk er in gaat zitten).

Ik vermoed dat ik in Groningen wel een adresje weet, maar zelfs voor mij is dat niet echt naast de deur, lol. Maar wil er binnenkort toch weer eens heen en dan kan ik altijd ff kijken, kost niks toch?
Ja ik heb je vorige(??) toile achtergrond gezien ZO MOOI!! Het zwart IS wel mooi maar past totaal niet bij mij, maar die tas!!! OLALA ♥♥
