A couple of weeks ago I blogged about the differences in home decoration style between me and My Love. I added an image of My love’s ideal living room. Ingrid commented that she was most shocked by the big orange sofa in the middle of the room.
Toen ik een paar weken geleden blogde over de verschillen in huis stijl tussen mijn Lief en mij reageerde Ingrid dat ze vooral geschokt was over het idee van de oranje bank. Gezien wat er in mijn woonkamer staat was dat wel een erg grappig commentaar.

Shocking or what? Here is another look.
I guess I don’t need to tell you all that I hate it. I hate the color, the leather, the style, the size, but My Love made it clear “if the chair goes I go”. So I guess the chair is staying and so luckily is My Love.
I have spent many hours grumbling and hating this chair, until I realized that wasn’t helping anything. So I decided to focus on the positive side. And I most admit this chair has one big thing going for it. It is mighty comfortable.
Na zo veel tijd bezig te zijn met de stoel te haten, besloot ik dat het slimmer was om te kijken wat er wel goed was aan de stoel. En dat is dat hij zo ongelooflijk lekker zit. En toen besloot ik hem nog wat comfortabeler te maken met een heerlijke zachte winterquilt.
So in honor of embracing the unwanted I decided to see if I could do anything to make it just a bit more comfortable.
So I came up with this quilt. I used bits and pieces from my stack, cut up some old clothes, used an old scarf and added some new pieces. It has become a sort of memory quilt. And it is big and soft and warm and I love it. And I love how it looks on our big orange chair.
This is now my favorite spot in the whole house. Perfect to cuddle up with a hot cuppa and a good book or magazine.

So that’s what I am going to do now!

Helemaal geweldig deze quilt, brengt me ook meteen weer op allerlei ideeen. Prachtige herfstkleuren en zeker bij de stoel. Hoe is het trouwens met de grannies???? Of kan ik dat beter even niet vragen???

hahaha,nog zo'n oranje monster.Maar ik moet zeggen dat je dit echt super hebt opgelost.Vind je quilt met mooie herfstkleuren echt geweldig.En als hij toch lekker zit zou ik hem ook niet weg doen.Het kussen vind ik trouwens ook erg mooi,zelf gemaakt?

In antwoord op Ingrid: Nee, ik kan niet breien dus het kussen is er een uit de winkel. De action om precies te zijn, dus wel een mooi koopje.

Zo zie je maar wat je met een plaid kunt doen. Het is nu een gezellig plekje.

She did it again!!!! Meid, ik sta weer versteld hoe je het weer voor elkaar gekregen hebt met zulke simpele middelen en van nou niet een echt mooie stoel, zo'n gezellig hoekje te toveren. Met de kleuren van de deken die zo goed bij de stoel passen heb je een prachtige herfsthoek gemaakt! Nu nog een haardvuurtje ernaast!

weet je dat ik normaal helemaal niet van het oranje ben maar zo met je prachtige quilt en je mooie kussen vind ik dit geweldig! mooi vorm stoel en ik kan me helemaal voorstellen dat dit heerlijk zit.
nog even over je vraag over het binnenwerk reataureren. het is gelukkig nog nooit voorgekomen dat het nodig was. ik denk niet dat wij dat kunnen maar goed dat zeg ik wel vaker en we worden vaak verrast dat we het toch kunnen:-)

There ya go! It looks great with the blanket and the pillows. We all have to live with something that our love wants and we don't. That's just part of it I guess.

actually I LIKE the chair…it looks very comfortable and I don't even like leather….but it looks great. happy fall.
Wat een mooie quilt, hij staat perfect bij je stoel! Echt een gezellig hoekje om in te verdwijnen, heerlijk met de warme deken om je heen!
Kun je wel geloven dat ik die bank/stoel helemaal tof vind?!! En überhaupt het gehele plaatje hier; het straalt iets van ´vintage´ uit en die kleuren maken het net spannend. En dan die details: visgraatvloer, mooie plaid… Prachtig!
Ik ben zelf een beetje afgestapt van dat ´puur brocante´ of ´puur landelijke´ alleen. Er komen ook steeds meer retro- of vintage-accenten bij ons en net pas heb ik via Ebay 2 leuke plastic ORANJE !! kinderstoeltjes gekocht. Wellicht ga ik ze gebruiken als ´nachtkastje´ in onze slaapkamer
