This is the last Thrifty Treasures Monday Party over at Rhoda’s Southern Hospitality blog and for the occasion I visited one of the last Brocante markets in Belgium.
Het Brocante seizoen is hier bijna afgelopen en omdat Rhoda ook voor de laatste keer de Thrifty Treasures Monday Party organiseert op haar blog, dacht ik nog maar eens goed te gaan snuffelen of ik nog wat schatten kon vinden.
The Brocante season is winding down fast now, there are only a few markets left. These markets are usually great fun, but it is always a bit of a surprise how big they will be and how rich in good finds. This one was very good. There were mostly towns people selling of their extras (or their grandmas).
Here are my best finds:
The first thing I saw was this little religious card and the ballerina. I got them for € 0,75 cents each. Nice he!

This bowl I bought to use as a plant pitcher but it is serving nicely as a container for a whole load of doilies I bought. I got them from this young dude who didn’t have a clue. When I offered him € 5 for the whole box it was only my opening bid, but he took it right away. It felt a bit like stealing from a baby, but I guess it is all in the game, sometimes you win and sometimes the seller wins.
Ik vond een hele doos met kleedjes in allerlei verschillende technieken. Ze werden verkocht door een jonge knul die er niet echt in geintereseerd leek. Ik bood hem € 5 voor de hele doos, verwachtend dat hij een tegenbod zou doen, maar hij accepteerde het meteen. Er bleken meer dan 20 verschillende kleedjes in te zitten en ook nog een mooie kussensloop.
I love this little French children’s game. It is a kind of domino’s game for children that teaches them words and sounds. So now you all know too that Berceau is French for pram, Fleur is of course flower and Chapeau is hat.
Dit Franse spel is een domino spel dat tevens woordjes leert. Schattig he!
This little cupboard was a steal for € 2. I don’t really have room for it in my craft room (no more wall space left), but I’ll make it work, it was far too nice to leave behind. It looks tired and neglected and it was very dirty. But it is solid and has lovely details.
Dit kastje schreeuwde naar me om wat liefde. Ik heb nog niet echt een idee wat ik ermee ga doen, maar ik vond het zo leuk en het heeft zo’n mooie details dat ik het niet achter kan laten. En voor maar € 2,- zeg nou zelf, daar laat je dat toch niet voor achter.
Waiting for a makeover, don’t you agree. Now if only I would have the time to get out my paint…
So maybe it is a good thing that the fleamarket season is winding down, that will give me time to work on some of my projects that are waiting attention.

Gohh, al 100 volgers!! Ik wou dat ik op de woonbeurs zoveel 'geluk' had, haha, was ik daar de 1,5 miljoenste bezoeker, dan had me dan 10.000 euro opgeleverd, hihi. Schuift 't hier nog wat?? Nee hoor, geintje, vind het veel te leuk om je blog te volgen. Je hebt geweldig leuke nieuwe dingen gescoord!
