These past few weeks I have been busy cutting and gluing cards. I thought it was high time I showed them to you.
If you follow Elly’s blog My Everyday Things, you might have already seen this card. If you do not know her blog, you are really missing out on something, go check it out. I made the card to go along with a little packet I send her. It was my first attempt to work with images from old sewing patterns and I liked it so much, I made another card in the same style.
De laatste paar weken heb ik me weer helemaal op het collage werk gestort. Ik heb een paar kaarten gemaakt als verjaardagscadeautje of om mee te sturen met een pakketje. De eerste heb je misschien al bij Elly gezien. Het was mijn eerste kaart met een vintage naaipatroon motief en ik vond het zo leuk geworden dat ik in dezelfde stijl er nog een gemaakt heb.
This card I made for a dear friend who celebrated her birthday last week. I guess it isn’t much of a riddle to tell how old she has become.
The little boy in a boat is a card I made for my nephew who turned 8 this month. I don’t know if little boys who are eight years old really like homemade cards, but I hoped that he would laugh when he recognized his father in the card. I got this design from Inspireco the online magazine Amy used to publish. You can still find all the old episodes HERE.
Het jongetje in het bootje is mijn broer toen hij acht was. Ik heb de kaart gemaakt voor mijn neefje zijn achtste verjaardag. Hij had zeker liever een groot cadeau gehad (iets met batterijen) maar ik hoop dat hij toch ook een beetje om zijn vader in zijn communiepakje moest lachen.
And then there was the fan swap of course.
I realized I had not shown you the fan I made for Sonia’s Rococo Fan Swap.
En ik had jullie nog niet het resultaat van de Fan swap laten zien. Dit was mijn creatie. Mijn eerste poging om met het Marie-Antoinette thema te werken. Ik vond het erg leuk. Marie leent zich wel voor mooie kleurtjes, luxe patroontjes en veel glitter. Helemaal mijn ding dus. Hieronder zie je de fan die ik terug kreeg. Een hele andere stijl maar ook erg leuk. I used the images I won in Cassandra’s giveaway. So I guess I now belong to the club of Marie-Antoinette followers, because this was my first Marie piece.
I used two pictures repeatedly but every Marie received her own set of jewels.
For the back I used a vintage image and more lace. And I tied lots of ribbons and lace to a ring that held the whole thing together.
And here is the fan I got in return from Nerina Fields. I love the old advertisements that were used and the homemade flower. Marianne, the cards you made for all of your friends are lovely…how nice to send a card that you have made with your hands rather than store bought…that makes it a keepsake to be treasured…i love both of those fans for the swaps…the colors you used on yours are SO pretty…and the images are gorgeous…i did do some collage thingies last week to be revealed next wed for the lollishop design team…and i am working on my journal too from Heather's class…fun fun…i do love to work with paper!!!

Ik had de kaart al bij Elly gezien en vind hem echt zo leuk. Ook de andere kaarten weer zo creatief en de waaiers,ik kan niets anders zeggen, leuk!!!!!!
