Good morning my friends! Can I just say from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! Your support for my plans with this blog was overwhelming and so wonderfully encouraging. Some of you even decided to come out of lurkdom to tell me how you felt about my little ole blog and the direction I might be taking. The comment section reads as a testimonial of love and faith, Thank You! I love you guys.
Ok, then the direction for my blog is set, but it will take me some time to get there, in the mean time can I share something else with you…
Remember when I showed you my wishlist for the Thrifting Season? High on that last was a 3-tier basket. Right after I posted that I got a wonderful message from Tammy who lives (was living) in Germany but moving back to the States soon. She wrote me she had those exact same baskets and would love to send them my way. And so she did!!! But she doesn’t have a blog and didn’t even leave me her address so I could send her a proper thank you. So I am using this blog now: Thank you again, Tammy, I was and am astonished by your generosity. Thank you!!!!
I have had those baskets for some time now, and they have been all over my house by now. I just can’t decide were I like them best.
They started their life in my house in the kitchen:
As a spot to collect some nice accessories to look at. A knick-knack spot, or a vignette if you like.
I really liked the opportunity to show off some pretty things. But although it looked really nice, my kitchen is basically too small to have a ‘pretty’ spot on my counters. I need the space to work. So I took one more look at my pretty kitchen set-up, and than it had to go.
But I wasn’t ready to give up on the idea to use the baskets in my kitchen. I love them so much I want to see them daily. So if I used then in a more practical manner, maybe that would work…
So I filled them with fruit and veggies. And they looked pretty and useful at the same time.
Btw, you have no idea how hard it is to get a beautiful, nicely balanced shot in my kitchen with the black countertops and backsplash that I have…
Anyway
I liked my 3-tier stand as fruit and veggie baskets.
But it still wasn’t very practical. So I thought about another spot to beautify with these babies.
I decided my bathroom could use a little accessorizing too.
This little set-up made my heart sing. All my little bath and shower trinkets looked so glamorous in the baskets. And my thrifted Sea Star looked right at home there.
But in the end, this little vignette had the same problem as the one in my kitchen: space was too precious. My bathroom is really tiny, think hotel bathroom, and you get the drift. And that little vignette was taking the space I needed to ‘house’ my toilet paper, and we all know you can’t live without toilet paper….
So I moved the baskets up another floor.
And here in my craft room they have been living ever since. Overflowing with lace and ribbons. Looking pretty on my library cabinet.
I love them just as much as I thought I would. They look like they belong here.
My baskets have found there new home.
So were did you like them best? Or do you have any other ideas of how I could use them? Please share, I’d love to hear your ideas….

Ik vind 'm prima waar hij nu is! Staat prachtig!
Een heel fijn weekend! – Irma
Laten staan!!!!
Fijn weekend!
Lieve groetjes Elly
lovely & practicle!
Your baskets looks so pretty with all that lace Marianne. So very inspiring – makes me want to play with lace.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
xo Tina
I liked all your applications but the bathroom one really seemed to suit the baskets best to me. Nice pictures! Rhianna
Such a beautiful basket and such a nice person to send it to you!!
I love how you used the baskets all three ways, but the bathroom use was practical and very pretty in a way that suits it's feminine quality. But I hear you on bathroom space. Is there any room to hang it?
xoxo

All such great ideas. I have a 3 tier basket that I used to keep on my island with spices in it. The uses are endless:)

i personally like the lace picture with mirror – it's an unexpected idea
Liefs Riet.
Adore all the ideas you have shown. Glad I don't have to choose a favorite, love them all! Thanks for sharing your creativity!
Wow, they all look beautiful but I think I like the lace the best!!!
Love your three tier basket! As soon as I saw the bathroom vignette, I decided right then that I want a three tier basket in my bathroom! But it does also look nice in your craft room overflowing with lace and ribbons.

I like the last use best – the lace makes a nice contast to the basket.

XX Cindy
All of your different displays were lovely but I have to say, putting the bathroom things in it was my favorite:)
I think the first kitchen display was my favorite – although I loved them all! I like it with your lace collection in the craft room as well, and sometimes space and practicality have to win. The library cabinet and mirror are a "to die for" combination – you couldn't possibly go wrong. What a beautiful and generous gift. I hope Tammy sees your post.
So glad you are enjoying it and having fun with it! It had been sitting in my closet, unused, for far too long. I like the last one the best.
I like the bathroom best I think, but it's really cute in the craft room too. I have something very similar to that and I have no idea what to do with it. I've seen a lot of people use them in their craft room, but I don't have a craft room. Good to know someone else was having the same problem =)
Oh they all look so good but my favorite would be the one in the bathroom with the soaps and such. Great ideas, thank you for sharing.
Love the baskets and the beautiful lace.
Not only was each vignette beautiful, but your photography is wonderful! How are you Marianne? I am still enjoying the wonderful items you sent for our swap last year! I thought I'd ring in about your previous post – you go for it girl! I am sure there are many people drooling at the thought of you opening an etsy shop! Me being one of them! Yay!
Heidi
I think they ended up in the best place. Serving a purpose and looking wonderful.
I did like the look in the kitchen with the veggies, but I do understand the need for counter space to work at.
Beautiful Job.
Wow – your pictures are just gorgeous and your ideas are fantastic. You've got me wanting one of those 3 tier baskets! Linda
What a wonderful gift! I really loved the baskets in the bathroom – it gives me ideas of my own, but I'm afraid my counter space might be too small as well. But there's always the craft room – storage is a necessity, the prettier the better! ::Jill
Hi there Marianne, There are some very good ideas here. I loved reading your blog. Commercialism, Schmercialism. Whatever. I love the blogging world. Especially when I can be involved in a great swap or just getting to know others with the same interests. Right now I am having a great little giveaway over at my Something Special Blog. Come check it out. I think you would like it.
I love pieces like this that can be used in so many ways. The simple vegetable storage idea is my favorite.
I love my tiered tray. I use it all the time for photo ops!
