Good morning (or good evening, whatever) Ladies, are you in the mood for some eye candy. I think I can provide some.
I am very fortunate to have a whole attic room to myself to play in.
I took lots of pictures so forgive me if I make your computer load slowly. I’ll hope you’ll find it worth it.
My craft room is divided in ‘zones’. This vignette on the top of two low bookcases, is what you see on your right hand when you enter my room.
My two dress forms are busy being beautiful here. This vintage paperdress form I made myself with help of my niece who modeled for it. You can read how I made my vintage dress form myself here.
And Elise came to live with me after I found her on a French Flea Market last summer.
This little porcelain ballerina is very precious to me, because she belonged to my mother.
I have a soft spot for French Ephemera and I am lucky I get to collect it so often at the Flea markets in my region.
This little dress is my own baptism gown, my mother made especially for me. It has a place of honor.
Ok, let’s move on.
On the opposite side of my attic, I have my sewing station, that has a bit more modern vibe to it.
On the two corner tables my sewing machine and my serger are handy dandy close to each other.
I have been planning to sew some nice covers for my machines for ages. But as long as that hasn’t happened I cover them with vintage aprons.
On the shelves above the desk, I store sewing supplies. (And in case you are wondering why I have an ice skate hanging on the shelve in summer, well I sewed this garland for my Christmas kitchen and I have gotten attached to it, ice skate or not).
Vintage sewing supplies are stored in a former thrift store cubicle.
And my tiny sewing machine has found its home on top of an Ikea drawer cabinet, that I gave a little makeover with scrapbook paper.
It is a nice, light spot to sew, I really should do that more often….
Ok, let’s move over a bit. To the left of my sewing station, stands my revamped Ikea cupboard with my library cabinet on top.
On this library cabinet I usually make some seasonal or sentimental vignettes. Like my gold an silver Christmas vignette, of the one with memories of my father.
But today it looks a bit bare.
So let’s move a bit further quickly.
To my little writing corner.
This is where this blogger blogs.
With my papers in pretty folders and another revamped little Ikea drawer cabinet.
The mood in this corner is soft and romantic. It is where I let my inner princess out, and indulge in all things pink and flowery.
On a little ‘washing line’ I have hung inspiring images.
A former spice cabinet, has found a new purpose in housing my favorite stamps.
And in a vintage cubicle ‘thing’, rescued at my in-laws last year, I store some little things that I just like to look at.
Even my mouse pad, has had a different life before. I am all about repurposing.
Ok let’s turn around once more, and look at the opposite wall. This is the corner to the left of the door we used to enter into the room.
In a little corner, stand some boxes with crafting supplies and tins with wallpaper and wrapping paper.
Those rolls of paper are really hiding in the corner behind my table. This table is NEVER this empty and clean. I stashed all my junk under the table just for you.
Those curtains can hide a lot….
Behind my desk is a little wall where I display gifts that I have received in swaps and such.
Another revamped little cupboard houses odds and ends that I am attached too.
This corner is growing into my ‘Honor Gallery’, and I hope I get to participate in many more swaps and make it a place overflowing with beauty, memories and creativity.
I think I am on to a good start…
And this closes the circle and we are back where we started.
I hope you enjoyed my look into my girly heaven.

You have a fabulicious place to create. I am so jealous. I have a small fold up table that sits in the middle of my family room in which to create. That is probably why I don't create much. I really enjoyed viewing your room. It's right up my alley.

Wow, what a beautiful space! I just went to a garage sale today and I saw a cute little spice rack for $1 and couldn't think of any use for it. I just knew someone in Blogland could have seen it's potential. Dang! A stamp shelf. It's perfect. I missed out on that one. Love your room.

Your space is beautiful, Marianne. It must be nice to retreat to your attic and create. I love the way it reflects the different parts of you.
I still have to make a cover for my sewing machine! I may have to steal your apron idea!

Beyond wonderful!!! Loved everything and could move right in…but being the sentimental fool that I am, the baptismal dress your mother made for you is in a class all by itself. What a wonderful space and you were right…you have eye candy!

Thank you everyone!
@ Sandra Sorry you missed it, but there are always other spiceracks to be found!
And @Claudia, yes just as I can't stick with one life in my life, my craft room has a lot of different sides to it as well. I guess it is a reflection of me.

I've seen those little IKEA drawer cabinet thingys at a few places now. Any recollection as to what line they are? IKEA doesn't make things easy to find….

Great idea, using vintage aprons for sewing machine covers. I was planning on making some form fitting cover but didn't want to put so much time and effort into it. I'd rather be quilting. Now I will use your idea and cover my machines with aprons. Thanks.

Your mannequin is darling! I'm working on one of my own & it's just about finished. However, I have no clue on making the stand. I've tried cardboard on top (neck) & tried to screw the stand in place, but the cardboard doesn't give much support. How did you get your mannequin stable on the stand?

Just found your blog and love your craft room. So many fun ideas. I like the wooden card catalog sitting up ontop the dresser. What types of things do you keep in those drawers.
