Hi everyone, she isn’t completely finished yet. But I am going to show you my non-red-and-gold Christmas tree anyway, because I am loving her.
Tada:
I am so glad I went for a new look this year. And that I came up with all of the decorations myself. It makes the tree extra special.
Btw. speaking of trees. Today is the last party of the Holiday Home Linky parties. All tree huggers are gathering at Sarah’s place otherwise known as Thrifty Décor Chic. So head over there for even more tree beauty. But first take a closer look at my tree.
Here is a closer look on some of the ornaments we made (yes I could not have gotten my tree to this point at this time without the help of My Love).
If you have been here this week you might have seen my decorated Christmas lights already. I think they look even better surrounded with white, silver and natural ornaments.
With the help of my Love (he took care of the sawing) I made a bunch of wooden ornaments. Like the big stars you see in the picture above.
I painted the big stars white, but I loved the color of the wood, so I kept the small stars natural.
The hearts got painted white too and I added a ‘silver’ border by cutting and wrapping aluminum tape (found in the plumbers section) around the edges.
I am really proud of the next ornaments. It are cut up parts of crochet runners from the flea market. Stiffened in sugar water and embellished with some chandelier crystals, also found this season at the flea market.
The Little crochet hearts didn’t need any embellishments. They looked good all on there own.
For a little bit of extra sparkle and silver I used a aluminum sheet and cut some hearts out of them. I then punched a pattern in it with a hammer and nail.
I have a few more ideas for ornaments, so I am sure that I will continue adding to my tree. But for now I am already tickled pink with her

Stunning!! Yes! Awesome idea to leave the red and gold behind. This one is so incredible!
Love the punched heart ornament so much. That was really clever.
