Little Christmas Puppet Ornaments ~ I couldn’t resist
One more little Christmas craft. The last one for 2011, I promise.
When I found these craft boxes in the clear-out section of our dollar store I couldn’t resist. They seemed so much fun to do. I bought three boxes and started crafting.
The boxes contained all the necessary materials to make these cute little ornament puppets. The instructions were a bit sketchy though and my embroidery knowledge leaves a lot to be desired.
So with Google and YouTube to the rescue I figured out how to make those French Knot stitches and those edge stitches and I proceeded to make the first set of puppets.
These were my first four little ornament puppets. Cute he, but not very original since I copied the original design completely.
With a little more confidence I started to come up with some of my own designs for the next lot.
Different patterns on the dresses and the hats got some embellishments too.
Now I was really into it…..
For the next red dressed little angels, I dove into my stash of lace, buttons and ribbons to look for the tiniest pieces that I had.
Now they were starting to look more like me….
With the last two white ones I went all out…….
No red in sight anymore and the very last one even got a pair of wings.
This was such a fun little craft project. Just right up my ally. Not difficult at all, one puppet took only about an hour from start to finish (I work rather slow), so instant gratification and those little puppets are so cute that I loved ‘hanging out’ with them.
I’ll give them a place of honor in my red and white Christmas tree.
The remaining planned Christmas crafts have been put away. I decided that next year is as good a time as any to start them. It is about time I started to enjoy the Christmas season and stopped preparing for it. I guess the only preparing I am going to do next is in the kitchen…..
So how about you? How are the Christmas preparations going? Time to enjoy the season or still hard at work?

The puppets and angels are precious and it really does look like a fun project!! I can't sew on a machine but I can hand stitch. I'd love to find the kit.

So very cute~~
They are so sweet, Marianne. I'm finishing up a few gifts and am just about done my preparations. Moving right after Christmas has made me be really organized.
Lief zijn ze, had ze ook gezien maar niet meegenomen. IKKE?? Ach werken tot en met zaterdag, dan zondag en maandag vrij en dan weer werken natuurlijk. HET drukste seizoen is dit dus…no extra free time for me 🙁
They are SO cute! I love how you have embellished them to make them more you.
