Looking back is fun! Especially when you only look back at the good stuff. And no I don’t mean the stuffing of the turkey, although I hope that was good for you in 2011 too.
I am talking about looking back at what I came up with this year to still my hunger for craftiness and creativity, for projects and crazy plans.
Let’s see, there were my Cupcake Candlesticks. They first appeared here in an early Spring vignette that had a definite pink flair going.
I wasn’t completely satisfied with how this bunch turned out, so I baked up another badge of plaster cupcakes and showed you all how to do it too.
This time I didn’t hold back and embellished them to my hearts desire.
Yummy, they turned out so good you’d almost want to take a bite out of them.
In April I picked up my table setting hobby again, and decided I needed some more accessories to give our dining experience a little extra cachet. I thought some a table setting with lace napkin rings might do the trick. And they did:
These were quite easy to make. My tutorial didn’t deserve the name because the how-to-make-lace-napkin-rings showed that it only took some sugar water and time. The result were some nice stiff and durable napkin rings that have that delicate lacy look.
May was also the month that I decided this nest needed a little spicing up. That with all my love for white and soft lacy bits, it needed a touch of masculine. Since I am one big softy and even sentimental too, I decided to make a memory bus-art project for our bedroom.
In May I was nice and early with my Summer Mantel. And I kept throwing it in front of you well into September when I finally replaced it with a Fall mantel. But in my defense my pallet wood mantel project was quit nice and designed for many makeovers. My favorite ones where the one with good old Hot Pink:
And with the more subdued colors of beach and sand:
Hmm just looking at it, makes me fall in love with it again. Maybe I’ll bring it back in 2012….
After a good old fashioned summer break, I went into overdrive for Fall. With my self-imposed challenge to Get It Done! I completed a lot of projects in one month.
Aside from the ones I already showed you in yesterday’s Top 10 Makeover projects, these were my favorites:
And my tree trunk candelabra.
Phew, that was a lot of hard work in October. I really needed some chill-out time after that. But not for long, because I ended this year with another blogging series: my 12 Days of Christmas Decorations.
So that’s it for this tour of crazy crafty creations, or creative crazy craftiness, or …
