Inspirations File: Pair of Vintage Metal Chairs

Pale and Interesting – Pair of Vintage Metal Chairs.

I stumbled on this beautiful site from an English furniture shop. This picture in particular made me gasp. There is something about that contrast between the rusty ‘white’ chairs and those crisp white boards. O how I love wood, and how I love rust…..

And how I love WHITE….

One day I’ll have a white wood wall, one day……

Visit Pale and Interesting for more inspiration and who knows maybe something beautiful will ‘stick’ to your clicking finger.

Love,

  1. The chairs are so awesome, Marianne. Perfectly chippy and ready to go!

  2. I love the contrast of those chairs against the crisp white wall, too.
There something about vintage chairs I adore.
    They certainly are not comfortable.

But, there was a set outside a hotel on our honeymoon – and they make me smile.

Good memories! That’s what I love about those very much used and lived in pieces of furniture. They have memories and history attached to them.

  3. I am no artist but I do like simple art and paintings, however, to me, it looks like someone has dumped 2 old chairs on a porch!

  4. I love the picture, but that’s more because of the crisp white walls and not the chairs… they are a little bit too vintage-y for me (read: plain old, neglected and rusty) and I certainly would not pay the price they ask for on the website! They do have some other gorgeous items though.

Oh they were definitely out of my budget too. Funny how tastes can differ. I see used, loved and full of history when I look at those chairs. Well it is a good thing we don’t all like the same things. Blogging would get very boring then. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Yes, it really is all a matter of perspective and tastes- at least we wouldn’t have to fight over them if we met at an antiques fair or market ;-) Still love the look and feel of the photo though x
