You’d think I would know better by now…
After writing a month long series on avoiding procrastination and getting things done, you’d think I learned a lesson….
After getting myself into trouble more times then I can count, you’d expect me to be smarter….
I guess I am not.
This weekend I had a diner party. A diner party that had been planned months ago. I was to bring the desert. At the last diner party I was the hostess and I had received this wonderful rose shaped baking form as a gift. Of course I had to use that to make the desert.
I knew all of this for months….
I had good intentions on trying out this baking form and then come up with a rock solid, well tested recipe for the party. I didn’t….
I had planned to document every step of the making of this wonderful dessert, styling the heck out of it and then blog about it and sharing the recipe. I couldn’t……
Because in true procrastinator fashion, I waited for that last day to start baking my dessert and it took me until the very last minute before I really had to hit the shower to finish it. The best I could do was to quickly grab some pictures.
I brought the cake over to the party with no real idea if it was any good. I just knew it looked kind of good…
The baking gods were on my side. It was delicious. But boy did I end up panicking over this one.
Why oh why, do I keep on doing this to myself? When will I ever learn my own lesson and Get Things Done! ON TIME!!!
Please tell me I am not the only one who does crazy stuff like this?
Love,

The cake looks beautiful and delicious. And no you are not the only one who procrastinates. I do it all the time. You would think I would have learned by now and I’m a lot older than you. Maybe I’ll never learn.

Well they do say that “those that can’t…teach”…lol. Just kidding. The cake is lovely, but a step by step would have been great!

Nope Marianne, definitely not the only one who does that! And the cake looks absolutely stunning! I want to reach into the screen, grab hold of it and take a bite!

No, you aren’t the only who does that… procastination is MY middle name!
You should be proud of yourself…..you took the time to take those lovely pictures and share them with us!
Thanks,
Siggie
Me too. I have friends coming over Friday and haven’t even started getting ready for it. Instead….I am reading blogs….lol
You’re not alone!
And, i love that you did a series on procrastination!
(I did a 31 Day series on Organizing Your Life – and I needed each and step!)
And, the case is very pretty!

I think some of us are born with the need for that last minute adrenalin rush – motivates us to get up and get it done. I only, of course, speak for myself

The cake is beautiful and I’m sure it was delish! I love having different shapes in baking pans…just posted recently about one.
Procrastination is one of my huge faults, even though I try to work on it.

You’re definitely not alone! I wonder what your non-hasty cakes are like though…this ‘hasty’ one looks amazing
It was all in the baking mold. I’ll make another one soon and take you through the process.
You are very humble! I am sure the baker had something to do with the ‘amazingness’ of the cake
Oh I look forward to your how-to post…must get myself one of those fancy molds…
