Good morning ladies. Wow two posts in two days, I haven´t been able to manage that in a long time….
Must be the weather that is moving in the right direction at last, it has given me a Spring in my step. Speaking about Spring, I finally started my Spring decorating. And now that the first light and airy colors have moved back into my home I am itching to continue the trend. Took me long enough…..
Everyone in my online life seemed to be well into Spring decorations. There were Easter bunnies, crafty eggs and light sun-filled colors everywhere. And yet in my ‘real’ life I was still cuddling under my winter plaid, surrounded by moody, wintery colors and comforting myself with hot chocolate while I turned the thermostat up another notch.
I just couldn’t make myself take that first step, I kept dragging my feet. And I don’t know why. It isn’t as if I don’t love to do this, this fluffing, nesting thing. But I just wasn’t feeling it.
And then I FINALLY finished my curtain project. The one that I started in my head, after the first winter in this house (hmm about nine years ago….). I’ll go into details about the what, how and why about my curtain dilemma in another post, but for now just know that this one felt like a mountain (but turned out to be a (rather big) molehill).
And with the curtain situation solved, the window sill finally could get a little extra oomph too. And that’s what I did, add some extra oomph to our front window.
I just used what I had on hand, no buying new stuff yet. It isn’t as if we didn’t go looking for some, but we haven’t decided yet what we really want to do with this new blank canvas.
The man of course, is already contemplating more modern art, designer lamps and/or a sculpture or two. While I am thinking about whether I’d want some softening up of the edges, find some new indoor plants or find the perfect set of tchotchkes (a word The Nester taught me) to decorate it.
We will get there. This project is just like any other. The moment you finish it, you realize you have to do a whole slew of other projects now (more on that later too).
For now I just want to bask in the glow of my first Spring decoration. It just lights up the room and has already inspired me to put away some of the winter pillows, and that plaid is going to be out of here next!
Spring is slowly gaining ground outside, and it definitely is working its way inside as well. The kick-off is here, now let the decorating continue.
Hope you are having a wonderful Spring!!!
