Good evening y’ll, how is this Tuesday treating you?
Mine can’t be over quick enough….
Not that there is anything wrong with this day, it is just that I’ve got something wonderful to look forward to…..
Look, see where I am retreating at night after a full day of work, craft, housework and blogging, my fully decorated, – ready for Christmas – bedroom.
As you can see I’ve got the red and white theme going in here too. Combined with my rustic repurposed headboard I really do think it feels like a Scandinavian mountain cabinet.
I am sure you can imagine how this looks at night. Me cuddled up in the blankets and pillows, hot tea by my side, little lights flickering and my Christmas tree giving just enough light to read a magazine in bed.
Heaven, sheer heaven, I tell you!
All those US homes I visit during the Christmas season had me yearning for a pair of stockings (it is not a tradition in my country), so I set out to makes some myself. I used two different, old tea towels for the fabric, and with a pattern Google found for me, these were whipped up quite easily. I think they turned out pretty good.
My vintage crate, fit the theme perfectly. I filled her up with some goodies to look good and add a little atmosphere.
A crate like this is such a handy decorating tool. It looks good on its own but when filled up with just about anything that strikes your fancy, it is an instant vignette. You really can’t go wrong with this one.
The little tree is actually the top part of our fake tree. I decorated it with all of our sentimental ornaments. You may recall that we try to buy an ornament on every vacation, something to remind us of the good times we had. So I guess this small tree is in fact one big memory tree.
Like this motorcycle ornament I found last year. I gave it too my Love as a gift. He loves his motorcycle, so this little ornament is his personal reminder of biking holidays.
Hmmmm, I think I might turn in early tonight……

Oh Marianne your room looks simply devine! And the soda bottle crate is clever.
We have the same pillow shams and duvet cover in our guest bedroom. I wanted the set for our bed but could only find in queen, it is one of my favorites.
You've inspired me to decorate our bedroom, something I've never done (shame on me, I know!)

Kerstgroetjes, Jolanda

Everything looks great! Makes me look forward to the week after Christmas when I have a lot less to do! I didn't know you didn't 'do' stockings there. You did a good job of making them! It's interesting to learn how people in other countries celebrate.
