Can you believe it took me until yesterday to restyle my living room for Fall! Yeah I know, I am surprised too. Especially when I take into consideration I love this fluffing and nesting stuff so much. But somehow this season’s change slipped through the cracks.
Sure I had done a Fall vignette with my beloved twig wreath, but other than that my beachy pillows were still on the couch.
Well no longer. I have brought in the winter colors that seem to belong to this house.
The browns, the oranges and the beige. So my quilted warm blanket is on my couch again and so are a stack of pillows. All ready for snuggling.
My little white side table got a bit more rustic looking lantern too.
He and when I say I change things up for the season, I mean it. That little table lamp is now sporting a black shade. When I bought it I was smart enough to buy a white and a black shade for it. Changing it out is a matter of minutes (and yeah this time I remembered where I could find the shade).
And do you spot that little corner there on the bottom right of this picture….
Yeah I won!!
Look what we have on the floor in front of the couch. When I did that little blog survey the majority of you agreed with me that my living room looked better with the rug. Several of you suggested to make it a seasonal thing and take it out again for Spring and Summer. Well that was my intention all along. I like the cool floors in Summer but love my warm feet in winter.
In the end the argument that I would otherwise have to come up with other solutions to warm my feet (aka stick those blocks of ice somewhere warm, like against his body….) did the trick for My Love.
Of course this is now in the books as one of my ‘victories’ and I am sure one of these days he will use this credit for a veto on another plan of mine. Ah we’ll see…
I love the rug, here it is another time from the other side.
Oh and do you spot those pillows on the chairs. If you are thinking that looks like fur, you are right.
They are real fur…
But wait before you sent the animal brigade after me, or make the anti-fur protestors show up at my doorstep with a can of paint. This is possum fur. New-Zealand possum fur. And when we bought them in New-Zealand they came with a note from the Department of Conservation saying “ Thank you for buying possum fur. You are helping save our environment”. However cute possums may look, in New Zealand they are a real pest and a serious threat to the wildlife and vegetation there. Getting rid of possums is number one on the list of conservational efforts. And we were glad to help. The pillows btw are incredibly soft and luscious.
I know most of you have Christmas on your minds already. But I am just glad my living room is in sync with the season again.
