I interrupt this summer decorating frenzy for a brief intermezzo.
You see I am getting in the mood.
Normally most definitely not my favorite color.
But it is getting to me.
Tonight there will be football (=soccer) again.
And I need to get ready.
Put on my orange clothes….
Prepare orange food….
Decorate the house in orange……
After tonight there will be at least on more game in orange (we have already secured a place in the 1/16 finale).
Hopefully the frenzy will continue….
How to make the sports party decoration garland
I used several WhiskerGraphics bitty bags, in orange of course. I glued them to some hefty craft paper in a random pattern.
I drew a pattern for a little shirt and cut it out as a template
Than I copied that several times on the back of my craft paper, and cut out all the shirts.
Because my handwriting is terrible and I am not the lucky owner of a Silhouette or Cricut machine, getting the numbers on was a challenge. Until I remembered I had some sheets of rub-ons that used to belong to my father-in-law. Truly a vintage craft item. Lucky enough there were numbered sheets with the perfect size numbers.
Then I strung the shirts to some bakers twine.
I also made some little pom poms from the bakers twine to resemble little footballs.
And that’s all there was to it. Now I have to dash, orange lemonade must be made, and orange cake has to be baked…..
Wish us luck.
