Hello my lovelies,
How are you doing in the new year. Already up and running or like me, still in contemplation and reflection mode. I just don’t seem to want to say goodbye to 2017. I keep looking back. Ah well, it was an especially good year to look back onto. So let’s just go over it one more time.
I selected some Instagram pictures of last year and took a stroll down memory lane. Why don’t you follow along?
The year started with a lovely trip to the volcanic island of Lanzarote. Aren’t these colorful locks of love just beautiful?
I moved into my new place just days before Christmas. So most of Christmas 2016 vacation was spent unpacking and amidst a giant chaos. But as always just treating myself to a bunch of flowers and creating a little organized and pretty corner kept me going.
Thanks to a work anniversary I got to enjoy this giant bouquet of colorful tulips.
And early Spring break was used for our first campervan trip. This beautiful castle is in the Loire valley in France. Chambord Castle surely ticked all the castle boxes. Loved it!
We made lots of campervan trips last year. Some with gorgeous weather, some with cold and windy wheater. But they were all good and nice. Can’t wait to start making our weekend trips this year. Maybe another trip to the Dutch coast will be on the agenda.
Still very much into crates. I asked my IG followers whether to paint my latest find or not. Unanimously the vote was ‘ leave it like it is’. So I did. For now…..
It will go into its designated spot soon, I think. We’ll have to see if it can avoid the white paint brush then.
I am so grateful for my new home. It feels so much more like me. It is nice to be able to furnish and decorate a house without compromise for a change. Like this old white cupboard. It is a dream come true to be able to hide the television in the living room. Always wanted that, now I can finally just do it. Loving it.
Haha, I wanted to sell that old coatrack on our version of Craigslist. So in a true Songbird way, no photograph could be taken without at least some minor styling. Must have worked because the rack sold within a day…..
…… Although I don’t know if the young dude that picked it up could care less about styling……
Fall was mostly spent on the trip of a lifetime to Australia. This image is taken at Manly beach, close to Sydney. If I ever move to Down Under I think I would aim for a beach cottage in Manly. Fell in love with those beaches hard.
Yes I did decorate for Christmas. I even took at least one blog post worth of photos. I just never got around to actually writing the post. So here is a glimpse of this years Christmas decor that you’ve missed.
Ah well there is always next year…..
Here is to making 2018 even better than 2017!
