Hello ladies (and men?), today I am here to ask your advice and your opinion. You see, I failed to share a little makeover project with you that I finished months ago. The makeover part of the project was easy. It just involved paint, non-white paint. And maybe that is were my problems began. I decided to get out of my comfort zone, be a little daring and use another color than white for a change.
This blue chair was my inspiration. I loved everything about it. The cafe chair design, the blue color, the dreamy beach styling. No surprises there because I am pretty much in love with anything Sarah does.
I had a little chair tucked away in the basement, that might work. Not a French cafe chair but a very Dutch school chair.
You may remember her. I so was not in love with her orange color, but I thought the shape was cute, the seat was nice and flat so might work as a little side table and she has that bit of industrial vibe going that I think pairs so well with a bit of coastal cottage.
So I painted her light blue.
And then I ran into trouble. Because it just didn’t work. I put her here and I put her there. I gave her pillows of flowers as decorations. I used her as a table, or a chair, or a prob. But I didn’t love any of it.
So what do you think?
Designate it a fail, return her to the thrift store and call it a day?
Or did I just choose the wrong color and would another little makeover do the trick and make me love her?
Is there a place and a use for her that I haven’t thought of?
Let’s discuss my little blue painted school chair.
PS I still have one pair of these crochet pillow cases left in my Etsy shop.
