Cheerio my friends. Thank you to all the sweet souls that left me a comment on my last post. I felt quite apprehensive when I clicked publish on that one, but every comment I got (even from some friends that came out of lurkdom especially for that) made me realize I was right in writing that post and definitely right in publishing it.
The blues hits us all from time to time, it is good to realize that.
But my days of blues are behind me and I am soaking up the sun. Today was the first day in the sixties here, and it will be the last one for some time too. So since my schedule at work was flexible I exchanged two working days. I got to enjoy the sun all day long today, and Thursday when it will be raining I’ll be working, good deal he.
All that sun shine made me want to change things up a bit. So I decided it was high time my feathery wreath, went bye bye and my little faux-mantel got a fresh look. This time I decided to play with layers again. Layering one mirror over the other. Looks kinda cute don’t you think.
And of course Spring needs to be welcomed with some fresh flowers too. This time I fell in love with these baby pink roses. I think they look really nice in those ‘knit’ vases. And yes I know that knitting patterns are more reminiscent of winter, but come on live a little and let go of the rules. I love these little vases I found recently at a dollar store and I was keen on using them.
And no vignette without candles.
Do you see those candle holders? I made them and I think they are cute and yummy.
Want a closer look? Okidokie…
Can you see? They look like cupcakes.
Ok, here is a close up….
I have been at it with plaster again. And white paint of course. These were really fun to make, so I might actually make a few more so I can have a whole gang of cupcake candle holders.
Updated: I made a new and improved version of my cupcake candle holders and showed you how I did it here.
This really was a great Tuesday. With the sun out, the birds chirping, my roses blooming and me nesting and foofing and enjoying life to the fullest.
So what did you do today? Enjoy yourself? Is it Spring yet in your part of the world (or Fall already?).
And what do you think about my cupcake candle holders? Fun or too simple to waste words on? Interested in knowing how I made them?
