DIY home improvement projects are the way to go if you have moved into a fixer upper like I did. I collected some DIY home improvement projects that are inspiring and have moved up high on my list of things to tackle next.
I moved into my ‘new’ home almost two and half years ago and there is still so much to do. I purposely opted for a fixer upper when I was house hunting because I truly wanted to make it my own. To put my personal spin on it, to turn this neglected and abused house into a beautiful and inviting home. I have loved living here from the moment it became mine but I have been loving that ever present to-do list a lot less. It is good to remind myself sometimes of all the projects that did get ticked off and revel in what is finished instead of dwelling on what still needs to be done.
This month I showed you a project that was brewing in my mind right in the design stage already. It is one of the first things I see every day as I walk groggily into my bathroom. And it is a constant reminder that I am making progress.
My faux concrete wall is so much easier to make than you might think and I am loving it! It adds just the right kind of industrial touch to my bathroom and helps prevent the room from looking to cold and stark with all the tiled walls and floors.
Well even with one room (almost) finished again there is still a long way to go. Good thing that my fellow DIY Home Improvement blog stars have provided me with much inspiration to just keep plotting along and DIY-ing my way through all the rooms in my home.
I selected some projects that will show up (albeit in altered form) in my own home somewhere in the future. So this is inspiration and a kind of sneak peek at the same time.
This home workshop is so jealousy inducing and you won’t believe how this part of the home looked before it got this wonderful new look.
Ever since I have started blogging I have seen my US blogging pals give their homes this board and batten treatment. I want it in my home! I just have to figure out how to rework those tutorials to fit with my Euro style built house. But this particular tutorial is a good start.
Both my stair cases are in dire need of a makeover (one is still very orange! painted as we speak). This beautiful stairs makeover project has got my all itching to get a move on and start making my steps look as beautiful as this.
I already showed you that a work space is due to be created. And a pegboard wall is high on my wish list for that DIY station in my garage. Good thing I now know how to install it properly.
No idea why this is called a shiplap wall but I do love those board up walls very much. I just have to figure out which of my walls deserves this special treatment the most.
So which project would you like me to add to my home first? Let’s talk Home Improvement Projects DIY!

OK, this is how I am voting, but of course you should do it as you want to: 1) Shiplap accent wall 2) Stairs 3) Board and batten…I’m looking forward to seeing what you do next.
