I am sure you have all seen this in 100 hundred variations already, but I am very pleased with my jewelry organizer. I have seen jewelry organizers like this all over blogland, I wouldn’t know where to begin to backlink, or identify any one specific source of inspiration because there were so many. But I really liked the potential of adding a bit more organization to my house, so I decided to see what variation I could come up with myself.

I really needed a bit of order in this department. Often I didn’t wear any jewelry at all, just because I couldn’t be bothered to go rummaging through my big mess of tangled up necklaces while I was hurrying to get myself ready in the morning .

It was a simple project involving an old frame I painted white and gave a bit of glaze to bring out the details, an old burlap coffee sack and some hooks.

I decided to hang the frame in a little corner in my dressing area.

My Love’s study doubles as our closet room too. As you can see here a large bookcase functions as a room divider. On the other side of the bookcase is my Love’s desk.

This way I  have a little corridor with my closet on one side and the back of the bookcase on the other. I call this spot ‘my walk-in closet’ 😉

With the addition of a little shelf (thrifted at my in-laws), a mirror (ready bought from a discount store) and a previously revamped chair I now have the perfect little corner with a girly touch. Completely hidden from My Love’s sight when he is at his desk so he won’t feel I am invading his space too much.

Two little bowls hold my rings and earrings.

And I really like that I can just pin pins into the burlap. The burlap is simply glued to a piece of plywood that I cut to fit in the frame.

I love my little corner with the girly white ornate frames combined with the rugged look of the printed burlap. And the addition of the shelf (with additional hooks) and the mirror really makes this a handy set-up.

So I am thanking all of you creative people out there who inspired this project and who knows, maybe I will have inspired the next jewelry organizer in blogland. If I did, let me know 🙂

I love this idea – your jewellery holder is lovely. I have been planning a similar shelf and mirror for a little corner of my bedroom that I can't do anything with and am so glad I've seen yours as it's just what I'm after!

I have seen many variations of this but that's part of why it's such a fun thing to see! Everyone has their own little twist on it. Yours is gorgeous, I love the stamped letters!

I think your jewelry holder is a lovely and practical idea. I too, have the same problem with not having the time to untangle or deal with finding a matching pair of earrings…so this is a fabulous solution. What is behind the burlap to hold your pins in?

Love it! It's so much nicer to have your jewelry organized in a pretty little area than to have it in a big tangled mess. Looks great.

Loving it Marianne….I need to get on the ball with my jewelry. What did you line the back of the sack with? Was it just cardboard?

Love your take on this, and really love the letters on the burlap. So clever, especially those little dishes. Invading his space..funny.

This is one of those been done before that is worth doing for yourself – I know – I have plans to do one once, I figure out where I want to put it.

I love how you incorporated it and other details to make your own, girly space.

Well, I don't wear jewelry. But I'm thinking up other uses for this little pretty. Can you imagine the dismay of women long ago who were forced to use burlap to make things? Seeing as it's all the rage now?

I really love this look and idea! During the summer, we have some crafty people who come and visit us at Cape Cod every year…And, every year we look for projects. This would definitely be a big hit.

    Thanks for the inspiration, Karen
