Wow only 10 more days until Easter. This year is flying by even faster than last year. Must mean that I am getting old. Easter is definitely one of those holidays that commerce won’t let you forget. The stores have been filled with Easter eggs galore since new-years and the cute bunnies and chicklets are everywhere.
I always decorate ‘light’ for Easter. I have a few eggs that I like to use but otherwise my Easter holiday decorating qualifies more for a general Spring decor.
This year is no exception to that rule.
I filled this big bowl with bulbs and eggs and called it a day.
I didn’t even have enough eggs to cover all the soil in this big bowl so I huddled them all together at the front. So that’s why you only get a frontal view this time
Looks good anyway. And in true Songbird fashion this is multi purpose decoration again. The eggs are either wood or stone, so they will keep until next year and the bulbs will get a long life in my garden, and the bowl will hopefully be used again as a bubbly cooler on a hot Spring evening pretty soon.
This ‘light’ Easter and Spring decorating of mine is fast becoming an annual tradition. See what I mean?
Looking at the decorations there is definitely a theme going there. Lots of grape hyacinth bulbs, fresh greens contrasted with browns, miniature eggs, not a lot of bling, and a light easy look that anyone can pull together.
I’d repeat any of those decorations from previous years in a heartbeat. I still love them.
I guess I have finally found ‘my style’. And that’s a good thing.
So what do you think? Do you prefer to go ‘light’ in your Spring/ Easter decorating, or do you prefer a more substantial decorating style?
