How is life up in your neck of the woods? Here life is good, busy but good. And I am about to start a two week Spring break so it will just get better. The house progress has been mostly absent, still only one painted door, mostly unpainted ceilings and baseboards, lots of temporary lighting still up, curtains missing and mostly bare walls. And yet I still love my new home. It is just so me. I have turned this rather blah, 80-ies home into a bright, light and very comfortable little palace for me and my plus one.
I also love how my mostly white and neutral base allows me to add different touches that change the mood. This time I wanted to go with colors and textures that were not too heavy, but that still grounded the place. So I added a combination of neutrals with black accents. Perfect for this early Spring where one day we have summer temperatures and the next clouds and rain and cold evenings and chilly nights. The fireplace has been cleaned for the summer but I am not ready to let go of the rug and throws. I still need those. This bohemian living room decor was so easy to pull together. Just adding some rugs, pillows and throws and I was done. Working with a neutral and white base makes adding changes so easy.
Of course this latest decorating spree happened as a result of a major cleaning session of the living room. It usually does. I’d better enjoy the orderliness and cleanliness for now, because come this weekend the paint cans, sanding pads, drills and hammers are gonna come out. My guy has to work, while I have days off so I am going to submerge myself in all things white paint and going to work my booty off to get a lot of projects finished. I am sure it will bring a mighty mess with it.
And within weeks, so not days I hope the gardener will come and start the heavy work on the outside part of my home. I haven’t shown you anything of my garden yet, simply because it lacks any beauty at all. It is quite frankly a mess, and I am sure the neighborhood is embarrassed about the state of my garden. But that is about to change too. I hope that by the time summer rolls around everything will be ready for me to thoroughly enjoy it. But first there will be lots of mess outside too, lots of mud, and lots of mess.
Oh, and what do you think about that coffee table? It was a freebie that I am trying out. It is currently a very orangey pine monstrosity, that I think will look nice once painted white. But it is rather big, and my home isn’t. So far I have loved its size for decorating purposes or crafting sessions in front of the fire place or for simply putting my feet up without risk of knocking my tea over. But it is rather big. What do you all think? Stay or go?
This is it for now, friends. Hope you enjoyed this little glimpse in my life and home once again.
I miss you all, so be sure to say hi in the comments so I know you’ve been around.
