Howdie doody sweet folks! Thanks to all of you who have chipped in on the Facebook discussion. You can still do that in yesterday’s post and I would love it if you would become a member of my Facebook Fan Page.
But let’s talk about nesting again, shall we. Because it doesn’t matter what I have going on in my life, how busy I am, or think I am. How much coughing and wheezing I still do, I know the moment my hankering for some good old playing around kicks in, that I am on the mend.
And playing I have been doing. While I am down with the cold, a lot of time is spent drinking hot tea and perusing through my stack of home décor books. And while I was happily sitting on my comfy couch, all snuggled up between blankets and pillows I couldn’t help but getting a bit restless.
All those beautifully staged pictures, could I do that?
Giving a wardrobe a makeover is one thing, but really showing it off all dolled up, is another thing.
Would I have a stylist in me?
And then the perfect opportunity presented itself to me. Remember my bedroom wardrobe I gave a makeover? And then immediately put into real life action again, housing our TV and mismatched bedding?
Yeah that one. (the inside is ugly I know, hence the small picture)
Well something was of with the TV and the cable thingamajig and they had to be taken out of the wardrobe. So it was half empty again already, and then the light went on. What if?
I emptied it out and only put things in that looked nice…
Could I pull a stylish wardrobe off?
And the playing commenced….
Stacking towels and tying a ribbon around them (oh, channeling my inner Martha here). Slipping lovely pillow cases around pillows and ‘carelessly’ throwing them in there.
Adding ‘loose objects’ like soap and lavender iron water.
Hmm, this was coming together nicely. Maybe add a little more height here, a touch of color there.
Making sure there was that extra element. My romantic white nighty on a vintage hanger.
And maybe add a few touches on the outside with the wardrobe closed too?
Change of color scheme perhaps?
A chair, a blanket and a beach bag. Hmm not bad.
Of course that meant changing out the quilt on top of the wardrobe too.
Look at all those whites on whites. Me likey!
Yeah my inner decorator and stylist had fun with this one.
Completely and utterly pointless thing to do, but fun….
So give me your honest opinion here. Would this be magazine worthy? Would it convince you if you saw a wardrobe styled this way in a book?
Do you play ‘stylist’ at home too?
Am I crazy?
PS I realize not all pictures are taken from the best point of view. That would have meant dismantling the bed. And even for me that was crossing the line. I might be crazy, but not a fool…….. (I think).
