Hello sweet pies, come meet Grace, my new
I have given myself a little gift, a super duper useful gift, a gift I will use almost daily, a gift that might save me some money, a gift that might take a few inches of my waistline (a girl can dream…..).
I have bought myself the most romantic of all bicycles. A turquoise transporter bike, with wicker basket.
The weather wasn’t at its best this weekend, but I had to take her out for a stroll nonetheless. Give her a spot in front of the camera before I am used to riding her.
And I don’t call her Grace for nothing.
She really is called Miss Grace! Cool he.
She is Dutch, made by the Royal Gazelle company. And she is mine.
I am also quite in love with my cow bike bag. I think it is so funny. Look at her, looking back at us all stern and seriously-cow-like.
This is what you call a transporter bike. So she is extra rugged and strong and made to carry some loads. The handlebars are extra wide and they have a lock. Riding her did take some getting used to. She handles heavier and those big, wide handlebars feel like they just won’t make a turn.
My previous bike was one of those sporty bikes with 24 gears and a rather sportlike mount. I thought that was a cool bike too when I got it. I think I had visions of cycling up and down the hills in my neck of the woods. I just forget about the little fact that there are few things in life I loathe more than cycling uphill. Sometimes you just have to do it, like if there is ice cream to be had on top, but in general I avoid it like the plague.
So that sporty bike was lost on me. Drove it around for 10 years nevertheless and she was getting old.
My new ride only has seven gears. So even when carrying a load I should be able to concur wind, rain and sloped streets. I sit on her nice and straight and feel like I am so much taller. I actually feel like I should be waving at the bystanders, so royal does she make me feel. I have been able to stop myself, so far…. But don’t be surprised if you catch me someday cruising on my new bicycle and waving at the bystanders 😉
But most of all, she is pretty. Look at the details on the saddle…
And she has a basket, to got to the flower market…. 🙂
And she is turquoise…..
Hello Miss Grace, welcome in my life, I am sure we will have lots of fun together….
So have you recently bought yourself a little (or a big) gift?
What color is your bicycle?
And would you rather walk or cycle up a hill (providing there is ice cream to be had on top)?
PS this is NOT a sponsored post. I bought my little Miss Grace myself and Gazelle has no idea who I am. Just so you know…
