Remember that trolley that I showed you a while back? It was an urban jungle trolley back then, completely stacked with green houseplants and some extras to show off my plants. Well not long after I posted that version of my trolley it underwent a complete overhaul. I just got around to taking some proper pictures of the look it is sporting now. Guess since it has made it to the blog it won’t be long before I change it back up again 🙂 .
Anyway I am here to show you my bohemian, beach inspired trolley completely decked out in white.
My love for white is really showing through in this one, isn’t it. I have made plans to put some color here or there in this new home, but I always seem to come back to this basic scheme: a white foundation, with white decorations and only an itty bit of color -mostly neutrals – to bring out the white.
My home is so light and airy that way. It looks twice as big as it really is. And to me all that white never seems cold or sterile. On the contrary, it feels warm and inviting and like the perfect canvas to let the true important things shine: the people in my home.
As you can see I collected things from all over to get this look. My JUJU hat knock off wreath, is now a centerpiece kind of a thing. I used white vases, and pitchers from the kitchen, a basket with a halfway finished craft project, and some thrifted coral and shells.
Decorating a trolley like this is always a bit of a challenge. The top is easy but as you work your way down it gets more difficult because of the angle and perspective. Oh and because you sort of run out of ideas after shelf number three. But I think I got this one! The fact that it has looked like this, with only minor alterations for months now seems a good indication that I got it right.
And yes, I do have some color in my home. Do not fear. The next image shows you a bit more of my room zoomed out. And as you can see my Monstera plant is adding a nice bit of contrast.
Talking about a monster of a plant. That thing is growing fast! I am already considering giving it some support by adding a line form the ceiling. But we are not there yet….
So what’ye thinking? Too much white, or just enough? Are you into the boho, beach style or is it lacking vintage cottage for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts……
PS Expect to see this trolley showing up quite often on this blog. It is just too perfect for letting my inner decorator go free.
