Welcome to day 4 of my Christmas Decorating series. Today’s decoration is not to be taken too seriously, I made it just for me, and I don’t take myself serious, like ever.
This series has me crafting and creating like there is no tomorrow. Well in fact more like, Urghh I got to get ready for tomorrow….
Anyway, I do most of my creating either down in the basement or up in my craft room. So to get myself properly in the mood I decided to do a little craft room decoration. Just for me, myself and I.
A little display cabinet, or a curio cubby, or a Christmas curiosity display….
Whatever you want to call it, it is a fun little display of some of my favorite Christmas decorations. Some I have made myself, others were gifts, there are some new ones, and some vintage ones. And together they inspire me to create.
The cubby was a thrift store find of years ago. I painted it white back then and lined it with pink colored papers. I used it for storage in my craft room (you can see it in action in my ‘old’ craft room reveal). When I totally restyled my craft room I had no place for it. But I hung on to it anyway.
This time round I dressed it up to fit my current style. The pink backgrounds were replaced by some chalk vinyl and I stapled an old folded ruler along the edge.
And then it was time to play. To hang the trinkets and treasures and to show off the beauties.
I hand-painted the chandelier with a paint pen. The paint pen was old and fading, but that worked out perfectly because now it resembles chalk even better.
I spent a crazy amount of time playing with the cubicles. Just because it was fun. I think I am going to hang on to my little curio cabinet after Christmas and find a spot for it somewhere in my craft room, because I like playing with it.
You know what else I like?
My little snowman….
Just two styrofoam balls stuck together with sewing pins for a face. He is cute, if I say so myself.
Oh and you did know there had to be a bird, didn’t you……
So now you know what I am looking at while I work on my next project.
Don’t forget to you see what my friends have been working at…..

This is soooo sweet! I love that each little cubby highlights something special, lovely idea for trinkets from family members with deep meaning! I may have to make one for year around! Kinda like a dollhouse, adult style. 🙂
