Hello sweet friends,
Today I share a little sneak peak into my living room. My white bohemian living room, filled up with neutrals and fabrics and textures and a nice stove for warmth and a nice bit of contrast too.
You don’t know how it warms my heart that so many of you have let me know that you are glad I am back to blogging! And all the lovely reactions to my good news have been absolutely wonderful too. When I started this blog up again I had no idea if anyone out there was still listening. I mean come on, I had been mostly absent here for two years, I didn’t expect anyone to still be there at all. But I guess the magic of email lists and RSS-readers did its job and alerted you to my return and you responded in the nicest way.
I love being back to blogging. I missed it. I missed most of all the kick in the butt it gives me to get off the couch and start doing something. To start fluffing, or crafting, or photographing. Anything really, but all those things appeal to my creative side. I have missed my creative side. Of course planning the complete overhaul of this house and deciding on everything from flooring, tiles, colors, doorknobs and light switches, did require some creativity. But that kind of creativity is different than standing in front of an empty surface and thinking ‘how am I going to add some Fall to this’, ‘what kind of mood am I in, what elements do I want to use and how can I make them work?’.
I guess the first bit of Fall fluffing I did was bring out the blankets and throws. We’ve had some really cool days and evenings here and I have needed my throws badly. Not that I mind at all. There is something so homely and comforting about wrapping oneself in a blanket. And the candles have come out in full force and I have lit them almost every evening. Love that too.
Oh and my stove/fire place. I have burned up a fire or two in that one too already. Truly a dream come through, I love a wood fire. Granted an open fire place with a real-deal mantel would have been awesome too. It was high on my wish list when looking for houses to live in. But in the end this house won, even if there is no place for a mantel and at least I have the warmth of a wood stove.
Time to get back to wrapping myself in a blanket and sipping some tea and reading a good book.
Love, M
So cozy! Love!
And, you are one of my favorite blogs, so yes, I was excited for you to come back. I know you needed those two years away with everything that was happening in your life, but I have missed you and am so pleased that you are back to being you.
I hope your new love appreciates you…and your decorating style! : )
Wow! So gorgeous! It makes me long for winter…and I never say that! ( I’m Canadian 😉 )
GLad to read that the Bird has her song back in her heart. KEpt checking to see if you were back to blogging. I figured that something major had happened. Now sing away for us all…
