Dreaming of a white Christmas and loving my winter white Christmas decorations

Winter white Christmas decorations make for a cozy Christmas that is also calm, elegant and peaceful. Go with a white Christmas theme for a relaxed and classy Christmas home.

Dining room decorated in white for Christmas

This year there had to be a tree again.

I was quite adamant about it.

I had to have my tree decorating moment.

I Just had to.

So I did!

Last year I decided that my dining/living room wasn’t big enough for a tree. I used a mini tree and some very simple decorations to create the perfect Christmas mood for me then. But that was then. And now is now. And I needed a Christmas tree in my home again.

In light of the fact that I am now sharing my home with my guy and his two cats, that might be considered an odd decision.

But here we all are. Christmas tree and all.

And I am loving it.

I limited my decorating urges once again and made sure we still have lots of empty space to live and dance. But I tucked in some extra decorating opportunities here and there.

Like this light string with tiny houses that kind of just stuck to my fingers one day. No idea how that happened  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am sure you can imagine how cozy this looks at night when the room is dark and only lit by all my strings of sparkly lights, the Christmas tree and all my candles. Magic in the making….

It has been a busy Christmas season so far for me. Three projects I did are all captured in this image. There is my walnut wreath centerpiece still going strong on the dining table.

The tassel ornaments mixed in seamlessly  with all my other (homemade) white Christmas ornaments on the tree. They look as if they have always been there.

And my string art Christmas deer sign in the background is giving me good vibes all day every day.

Quite pleased with my production so far. I think I still have a few projects in me, but I might save them for next year, because you all must be on overload with all the Christmas decorations inspiration on display on the blogs these days.

My moose head wanted in on the party too. I gave him some extra shiny bangles and some silver beads and now he is all happy and pleased with himself.

I am pleased with the fact that he ads some Christmas cheer and whimsey to a boring little corner of my dining room.

Sometimes it can be so easy this whole Christmas decorating stuff: if it makes you smile it is all good.

My moose makes me smile.

I used my big chunky plaid as my Christmas tree skirt. It works wonderfully and adds just the perfect bit of warm winter to my white Christmas theme.

There are truly some ornaments in there that go back years with me. I so vividly remember creating them. Time does fly by doesn’t it.

I am so glad I went with my instinct and put up a Christmas tree again. It just feels so much more like Christmas. I am also still in love with my winter white Christmas decorations.

They make me feel cool, calm and collected at a time when my whole world seems to be spinning in unknown directions again.

In the day time these all white decorations bring a serene Christmas atmosphere. But they all just light up in the dark, surrounded with the sparkly lights, and then they give me all the warm and fuzzies that I want. In fact I  love decorating in winter white after Christmas too! I think a white interior is perfect for January decor.

If you like me Christmas decor, please consider pinning, liking and sharing it. A little social media love is what we bloggers live for!

And the questions of the year are?

Should I add in some color next year come Christmas?

And what color would you like to see me decorate with?

Let me know what you’d like to see me do, I’d love to hear what you think!

  2. I always enjoy your Christmas decor. Each touch is elegant and timeless. Yes, I’m glad you put up a tree! Your deer/ moose looks great too. I’ll bet it looks wonderful in the evenings in your home!

  3. Hi Marianne!! It’s so glad to have you back. Your home looks fantastic, your photography skills are SO good and your tree is stunning!! When I was a teenager a neighbor gave us a couple of crocheted and macramed white string ornaments and I’ve always wanted to be able to make some. I love how you have so many on your tree, it’s like snow! Also, you may not recognize the name, I used to blog at Cottage Magpie — but I’m blogging under my name now. It’s been a long break but I’m back at it! So glad you’re back, too!!! <3 ~Angela~
