Hi cookies, are you freezing your butt off where you live, like I am, or are you cooking in the sun on the Southern Hemisphere? Winter has returned here in the low lands, no snow but it is freezing people, freezing. Upside of that is that I am truly and utterly awake by the time I get of my bike in the morning. Nothing like some freezing cold to get my cheeks all rosy and blushing, no makeup needed.
With all of that winter stuff going on outside I just can’t bring myself to start decorating for Spring inside. I love my hot chocolate and warm blankets way too much now to get a true Spring mood going on. But then again I am pretty fed up with winter too, so I wanted something to tie me over.
I think that a little winter white decorations with some fresh flowers makes the perfect in-between setting. What’d you think? Agree?
What is it about all white that is so soothing and relaxed and yet brings that touch of elegance and sophistication too?
The pitcher is from Ikea, the mirror came from my in-laws (who thought I was certifiable crazy when I wanted that completely torn and beat up mirror, guess they now know why), shell sphere was a lucky find and the crochet hanger is another homemade Christmas ornament that got pulled out of storage (he it was in there for three whole weeks, time that it saw light again).
I just love that mirror on my shelf so much. I can put anything in front of it and it looks good. And look how it doubles the impact of what is basically a small bouquet of flowers.
Yeah this all white vignette will do perfectly for now, while I am pining for Spring and bravely facing the winter’s cold.
So do you decorate for Spring with reckless abandon even when it is still full winter? Or do you wait for milder temperatures before you bring out the nests and eggs? Or are your decorations timeless and go with any season?
