My 2012 Christmas Tree. Day 11

My Christmas decorating is drawing to an end. The ‘piece the resistance’ is of course my Christmas tree and we put her up this weekend.

Lots of handmade ornaments in white, silver and gold make this my favorite Christmas tree ever….

Last years burlap ornaments, the wooden stars and hearts from two years ago and my snowflake doily ornaments are all handmade. I loved seeing them again, they are like distant relatives you love to reacquaint yourself with over the holidays.

The color combination works really well. The white and silver light up the tree while the gold adds a bit of warmth.

I find photographing a tree so difficult, somehow the magic of it never quite translates onto the picture. But I gave it my best shot….

It was my love who came up with the suitcase tree stand idea. I am loving it! We had to fill up the bottom one with wood to stabilize the whole thing  but then the tree stand fit in there like a charm. I used the tree skirt the hide the stand and fill up the trunk. The Christmas light cords are hidden in that basket with pine cones.

Yes this tree is exactly what the doctor ordered. Fun, classy, sentimental and totally me…..

My tree is up, my house is decoratedl: I guess I am ready for the hot cocoa and the Sound of Music and for eating why too many Christmas cookies.

Let the good times roll in….
