Howdie, I am here to show you that you literally can make Christmas ornaments out of nothing. Like out of a piece of forgotten burlap. Last year I made myself a Postal Chair. I reupholstered the thing from scratch. In the process I used some real upholstery grade burlap for the seat. I had a small piece left after the chair was finished. In true crafting hoarder’s style I did not throw that away. That piece of burlap was so strong and stiff I thought ‘it will come in handy one day’. It wandered around my craft room for 18 months, I had not come up with an idea for it.
Cue today. So what is a crafty lady to do? Well, rise up to the challenge of course.
I got that bit of extra tough burlap out and stared long and hard at it. I even engaged in a little conversation with it. Trying to make it ‘tell’ me what it wanted to be. It whispered ‘pretty’, ‘I have been an ignored, ordinary and mundane little bit of burlap all my life, I want to be pretty and beautiful and make people smile’.

So I listened to the plea of my piece of burlap and set out to make it pretty. And now I have some new Christmas ornaments to go in my tree. I literally finished them 15 minutes ago, so excuse the lack of styling and proper photographing, it is pitch black here by now.
So what is today’s verdict? Pass or Fail???

WIN! I love them! I chuckled at your comment about putting a challenge out there!!! It takes a lot of work to put something like this together and write a post and have a life!!! Good job! Pretty stitching…

I love these Marianne! Also the story behind it, how you got the idea…the burlap was saying "make a princess out of me" and you did a fine job of that!
