Bohemian summer decor from last year. Giving your living room that bohemian touch isn’t difficult. Add texture, keep your colors cohesive and add a boho summer hat. I came across these images while searching for something totally different in my files. I realized I had never shared this summer beach living room decor with you guys.
And summer has been on my mind. We are having the best summer weather this Spring. It is truly amazing, us over here in the low lands don’t know what hit us. For weeks now the sun is mostly out, temps are up, windows are open and all kinds of bare legs and nekkid arms are on display.
And it couldn’t have come at a better time…..
The last three Saturdays I was up before six. The workman that are doing the great garden overhaul like to start early. I am sure my neighbors appreciate it as much as I do 🙂
They started with tearing everything down and digging everything up. When they left that first Saturday a big, muddy emptiness was surrounding my house. Of course right the next day one of those summer downpours happened that flooded my city and my garden. The muddy stream washed all over my old terrace and right up to the house. We were saved by a mere inch of space or it would have flooded right through my French doors into my whiter than white living room.
I felt very lucky! There are lots of people who have been washing walls and replacing flooring since that day. They tell us that these kind of downpours are to be expected in the future. Good thing that my gardener knows what he is doing and is taking these waterfalls from the heavens into consideration.
Outside it is still a big mess. Although the first project is finished, so the end may not be in sight it is still approaching. For the last two years my car was parked on a muddy, hardly paved drive. Every time someone came to my house they would be dragging mud and dirt in, it was inevitable.
You can’t imagine how happy I am that that is behind me now. I made them start with fixing that driveway. It has changed the entire look of my outside home, and it has given me so much space at the front. I need to sweep sand over the new pavement daily for the next week or so and then I can “move in” so to speak.
Of course now that my drive is looking great, it is all the more obvious how ugly my front door and garage doors are. More work for Songbird….
Anyway what has that all got to do with today’s post you ask?
Well not much….
Except…….
Bohemian summer decor tricks
With all that work going on outside, I have had less time to work on the inside. Besides all that good weather is pulling me outside too. Which is way my current living room is still sporting the last bohemian look and no longer picture perfect. Good thing though that these images from last year are inspiring me to give that living room a good clear out and start project summerification for this home.
I am sure I can find the time to do that….
So how about you? Now that June has begun (June has begun! How did that happen already!?!), is your home summer ready?
